Play of light
“Seducer of light” so you define the German lighting designer (graphic trained) whose love for lighting dates back to the days when as a child he was watching the light reflections on the walls and on the trees. In the early 60s he founded the studio in Monaco “Design M” kicking off the first projects of lamps. All in the name of irony and provocation.
In many of his works is immediately evident the interest in everyday materials (plastic and aluminium) in favor of a simple and craftsmanship image. Cornerstones of his work are the mobility of the object and the emotionality of the product.
The Ingo Maurer lamps are real games: essential forms that offer many possibilities of combinations. Resulted not only in indoor use, but also in urban and public installations.
