The Cassina Cab 413 chair, designed by Mario Bellini in the 1970s, is an iconic piece that has redefined the concept of leather furniture. Part of Cassina’s I Contemporanei collection, the Cab chair was the first of its kind to feature a free-standing leather structure, drawing inspiration from the way skin fits over the human skeleton. This revolutionary design remains a hallmark of sophistication and craftsmanship in modern interiors. Crafted from sixteen pieces of saddle leather, each chair undergoes fourteen meticulous hand-finished procedures before the final assembly. The leather sections are precisely cut and sewn together, then fitted onto the chair’s steel frame with a zipper closure that mirrors the precision of tailored clothing.
