Paola Navone
Paola Navone is a native of Turin and Milanese by adoption: she was born there and graduated from the Turin Polytechnics in 1973 and later moved to Milan where she worked together with the great masters such as Alessandro Mendini, Ettore Sottsass and Andrea Branzi, with whom she worked in the Alchimia group, an extremely avant-garde group on the Italian design scene. She immediately distinguished herself for her stimulating and innovative language and received the prestigious Design Award of Osaka already in 1983.
She likes to call herself a citizen of the world because she is very intrigued by the most diverse cultures, which lead her to travel a lot, satisfying this desire to go beyond the borders, which we also find in her works.
During her long career she has played different roles with ease: from the architect to the designer, from the art director to the teacher to become the curator of exhibitions and events, as well as a fine essayist.
She also worked with numerous and important companies in the design sector such as Gervasoni (as art director), Knoll, Molteni, Natuzzi, just to name a few.
