The Skynest Motion by Flos, designed by the renowned Marcel Wanders, is a diffuse lighting hanging appliance that brings together innovative design and sustainable materials. The dome of this fixture is a striking blend of luminous and dark elements, woven into a captivating network. The core structures of the dome are covered with a thin interwoven tubular mesh, made from recycled and recyclable polyester fabric, showcasing the commitment to environmentally conscious design.
Each luminous element within the dome is powered by specialized micro-connectors located at the top of the structure. These elements are covered in a two-tone mesh, with the inner side of the dome always remaining white to optimize light emission from the integrated LED module. This unique configuration ensures both functional lighting and a visually stunning design.
The Skynest Motion is fitted with an innovative balancing system at the top of the dome, which ensures perfect stability and balance, making the light fixture both practical and elegant. An aluminium ring at the base of the dome secures the entire structure, using a simple snap-fit system for easy assembly. Importantly, this light fixture is constructed without glue, allowing it to be fully disassembled for recycling or repairs, contributing to its sustainable and eco-friendly profile.
Available in a range of finishes—Blue Tourmaline, Almond, Anthracite, and Brick Red—Skynest Motion offers flexibility in design to match various interior aesthetics. The plastic structure, painted to match the finish of the lamp, comes fitted with built-in electronics and a dimmer, allowing for easy control of the light intensity.
