The Skynest S by Flos, designed by the renowned Marcel Wanders, is a diffuse lighting hanging appliance that combines cutting-edge design with sustainable materials. The dome of the Skynest S is an intricate combination of luminous and dark elements, forming a network that highlights its modern and eco-conscious construction. The core structures are covered with an interwoven colorful tubular mesh, made from recycled and recyclable polyester fabric, ensuring both sustainability and unique aesthetics.
Each luminous element is individually powered by specialized micro-connectors located at the top of the dome. These elements are covered with a two-tone mesh, with the inner side of the dome always white to enhance the light emission from the integrated LED module, creating optimal illumination throughout any space.
The Skynest S is designed with a built-in balancing system at the top of the dome, ensuring that the fixture remains perfectly stable. The bottom of the dome is reinforced by an aluminum ring, which holds the entire network structure in place through a simple snap-fit system, allowing for easy assembly and disassembly. Importantly, the lamp is constructed without glue, making it fully separable for recycling or repairs.
Available in a range of finishes—Blue Tourmaline, Almond, Anthracite, and Brick Red—the Skynest S offers a versatile palette to match a variety of interior styles. The plastic ceiling rose is painted to match the lamp’s finish and is equipped with built-in electronics that support various dimmer systems, including 0-10V, 1-10V, DALI, and PUSH, offering customizable lighting control.
