Interni proudly presents its new collaboration with Made For A Woman, the ethical and sustainable brand based in Madagascar and founded by Eileen Akbaraly. This social entrepreneurship project aims to create fashion and design that positively impact the environment, while improving the quality of life for individuals from marginalized communities.
Exclusively for Interni, Made For A Woman, under the artistic direction of Marina Vignati, has designed a line of ethical and sustainable products made entirely with raw materials sourced from certified local producers and handwoven by Malagasy artisans.
A hallmark of the collection is rafia, a robust, eco-friendly natural fiber derived from the leaves of an endemic palm tree, symbolizing Madagascar’s traditions. The pieces include poufs, rugs, and bags in natural tones that form a palette inspired by the Earth and the Sea. Warm, earthy hues like brown and ochre intertwine with shades of deep blue and vibrant turquoise, evoking the freedom, potential, and inspiring power of the ocean.
Each item is crafted through a meticulous artisanal process, enriched with geometric patterns that lend uniqueness and character to every creation. With over 350 artisans involved – most of them women – the project not only celebrates artisanal excellence but also promotes empowerment and improves living conditions for local communities.
The project stands out for its commitment to transparent and fair production processes, based on supply chains that respect workers’ rights and well-being, ensuring equality, health, and child protection. This collaboration reinforces Interni's commitment to authentic and sustainable design that creates a positive social impact.
Together with Made For A Woman, Interni demonstrates how design can transcend the boundaries of mere objects, becoming a message of awareness and social change, in harmony with shared values of solidarity, social justice, and environmental protection.
