Originating in 1953, the D.153.1 armchair is an integral part of Gio Ponti's domestic setting at via Dezza in Milan. Molteni&C's reproduction, based on Ponti's original sketches, features a brass frame and upholstery in white-blue leather or "Punteggiato" fabric, originally designed by Ponti for Rubelli in 1934. The fabric reinterprets traditional velvet-weaving, incorporating contemporary patterns like clustered disks with varying color gradients. Displayed at the Salone del Mobile 2012, the D.153.1 chair enriches the Gio Ponti furnishing Collection.
