The house stands perched majestically on a Ligurian hillside along the Riviera di Ponente, like a coral emerging from the depths of the sea. It smells of the sea, the sun, and olive trees, creating a unique connection between the green of the Mediterranean scrub, and the foamy blue of the waves. The project arose from the owners' desire to transform the house into a special retreat — one to be loved and lived in, where they could escape from the daily grind of their working lives. Thanks to the connection that was formed between the owners and the INTERNI DESIGN EXPERIENCE team, who were entrusted with the entire interior design project, the result was a project that as completely in-line with their expectations. Every detail was meticulously analysed and interpreted, with great care and professionalism, in order to reflect precisely what the clients' desired and hoped to achieve. In fact, as you explore the house, you get a sense that you're breathing that magic.
The entrance opens up onto the stairwell, which extends gracefully to the upper floors; an artistic light fixture (Henge) and a sculpture by Arnoldi enrich the elliptical staircase.
On the left the bathroom is signed Antonio Lupi and doors are signed Rimadesio.
Straight ahead lies the kitchen, featuring spacious worktops in Calacatta gold porcelain, a fully equipped central island, ample storage, and high-end appliances. Clocks on the wall by Vitra.
Beyond the kitchen is the dining area, boasting a large oval table with armchairs (Cassina) with an antique style brass chandelier (Baxter) hanging at the centre, made entirely by hand by the artist himself. On the front wall is the FLOWERS sculpture.
The flooring, made from custom-designed Venetian terrazzo, brings light and a sense of openness to the spaces that overlook the surrounding landscape.
Behind the dining area is the sitting area (Cassina), with two round coffee tables featuring solid wood bases, hand-carved with chisels, and back-painted glass tops (Ceccotti).
Ascending to the upper floor, there's a spacious relaxation area complete with sofas (Minotti), a chaise longue (Vitra), a game table (Knoll), and armchairs (Cassina).
The splendid view of the sea magically fills every room, including the guest and master bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom.
A spiral staircase connects the sleeping area to the tower of the house, where a marvellous little retreat is revealed — an intimate space to enjoy the surrounding nature, to smoke your favourite cigar, or to savour rare, fine liqueurs, in complete relaxation.
In the basement, there's a large wellness area, complete with a sauna, an experience shower, with chromotherapy, an herbal tea station, a relaxation zone, and a Zerobody Dry Float tub.
The outdoor area presented a challenge in terms of its layout. The house already boasted a number of impressive features, with its imposing architecture. So this called for a special idea. Something fresh and intriguing. Thus, the outdoor area, which seems to plunge into the sea, was conceived as a delicate balance between the dominant landscape and the house itself. The pool boasts a clean, bold design, and is complemented by comfortable yet minimalist loungers (B&B Italia). The kitchen and dining areas are shaded by a large, ancient pine tree, and are immersed in the olive groves below (MDF table and chairs by Paola Lenti). The soft, sinuous contours of the sofas in the relaxation area adjacent to the pool create a harmonious flow, where the scent of the olive trees and the sea fill the air. As the sun sets, the house becomes immersed by the interplay of light and shadow, accentuating its character. Another large dining table rises above the surrounding landscape, making dining here an unforgettable experience! (table and chairs by Roda, patio umbrella by Tuuci). The culmination of a dream.
