The Meltdown Suspension Lamp by Cappellini, designed by Johan Lindstèn, is more than just a light source—it is a bold design statement. With its distinctive spherical diffuser made from colored pâte de verre glass, the Meltdown lamp transforms the illuminating function into a form of artistic expression. The glass, mouth-blown into a mould, is available in a sophisticated palette of shades including amber, tobacco, rose, amethyst, light blue, and dove grey.
This table lamp version features a single spherical diffuser, providing a warm, ambient light that enhances the mood of any room. The artisanal nature of the glassmaking process ensures that each piece is unique, with subtle variations in color intensity and the presence of small air bubbles, which are considered part of the lamp's charm and authenticity.
