Interni’s Creative Team restyled this liberty penthouse in the heart of Milan, in line with the taste of its art-loving owner. Art is everywhere: in addition to the designer pieces, the choice of colours and furnishings turns this interior into a microcosm inspired by a work of art.
The architectural thread running through the project is conservation. The original flooring, which risked being damaged during the removal and relocation of some partitions, was preserved and then restored, becoming a decorative backdrop that communicates with each room in a different way, through the colours and shapes typical of its period. Lowering the ceilings made it possible to optimise the new systems without intervening on the parts that needed to be preserved. The interior doors and windows were also restored.
The living room is furnished with Porro’s Modern cabinet in matt Canaletto walnut, a Cassina chaise longue, the Bob coffee table by Poltrona Frau and the Michel sofa by Antonio Citterio for B&B Italia in blue velvet. On the walls hang important paintings by Massimo Soprano. The double-layer curtains are by Athena Tende.
In the dining room, the Manta table by Rimadesio in grey glass and the Febo armchairs by Maxalto are combined with the Mida sideboard by Maxalto in dark oak. In the background, Perry Bianchini’s sculpture is highlighted by a purple frame that matches the colour of the carpet. The table lighting is by Flos.
The Poliform kitchen features a matt Orobico Grey-effect stoneware top and splashback and a natural oak snack top with stools. Accessories include Kartell’s Napoleon gnome and several pieces by Fornasetti.
In the master bedroom are the velvet You and Me bed by Ivano Redaelli and the round Bob table by Poltrona Frau. Lighting was designed ad-hoc throughout the house: among the pieces chosen are the chandelier in reflective polycarbonate by Penta Light, the ceiling light by Oty Light and the Glo-Ball lamp by Flos.
