GamFratesi
"We are not so linked to the product per se, but we see it from the perspective of people who interact in space. Our projects often arise from behaviour that becomes the fundamental element for us. In order to study the parts that compose them and emphasize some of them, first we ask ourselves how they can be perceived from a physical and conceptual point of view. "
The GamFratesi duo are a couple in both private and professional life. Stine Gam is a Danish architect with a master's degree in Furniture Design, whereas Enrico Fratesi is an Italian architect who holds a master's degree in Industrial Design.
Before opening their own studio in Copenhagen, whose name was derived from uniting their two surnames, they undertook various work experiences in professional studios in Japan and Scandinavia, two places with very unusual cultures that have strongly inspired them.
Their design merges innovation and tradition to perfection, to which an absolutely experimental approach is applied both in terms of choosing materials as well as production techniques.
The classic tradition typical of Italian furniture and Danish craftsmanship harmoniously interact in their products, giving form to extremely elegant and refined design products, in a language that can undoubtedly be defined as minimalist, where no detail is left to chance and everything has been meticulously studied with skill and taste.
During their careers, the two designers have received a number of prestigious awards such as the Elle Decoration International Design (EDIDA), the International Young Designer, and the Compasso d'Oro.
Their greatly admired style has allowed them to collaborate with various brands in the field such as Poltrona Frau, Minotti, Gubi, De Padova, Thonet, Louis Poulsen, and others.
