Christophe Pillet
Born in Paris in 1959, Christophe Pillet is undoubtedly one of the most important French designers of his generation. After receiving his diploma in Decorative Arts in Nice, Pillet began his career collaborating with Philippe Starck and then started up his own business in 1993, becoming an independent designer. The Transalpine designer was slowly able to show, through his works, that new fresh and contemporary current which is French design.
The elegance, taste for simplicity and boundless refinement have made Christophe Pillet over time one of the few French designers able to emerge and enjoy enormous success all over the entire international design scene overseeing important projects throughout the world. His works range from collectible objects and architecture, to furniture design and artistic direction, always managing to manifest his great eclecticism. Despite the great variety of works and products, Christophe Pillet’s objects and creations always reveal a common distinguishing feature: a strong and dynamic elegance seasoned with extreme precision.
During his career, Christophe Pillet has collaborated and continues to do so with numerous important brands in the design world such as Porro, Driade, Ceccotti Collezioni, Ethimo, Edra, Emu, Cappellini and several others. He has also received numerous international awards, among which the 1994 "Designer of the Year" stands out. Ever attentive to the selection of materials and finishes, Christophe Pillet has always been the torchbearer of a taste marked by sober elegance which has allowed him to enjoy enormous success all over.
