Alain Gilles

Born in Brussels in 1970, Alain Gilles is an established Belgian designer known throughout the world. What undoubtedly distinguishes him from all the others is his atypical career path, which led him to the world of design only afterwards when his life was already headed in other directions. Alain Gilles received his degree in marketing management and political science working 5 full years in the international financial world when he then incredibly mustered the strength to pursue his dreams starting a new educational path that led him to study Industrial Design in France and soon become a successful designer.

In 2007 he opened his own studio, finally managing to express his ideas and art through objects, working also in art direction and scenic design. There have been countless international awards won by Gilles and a number of brands with which he has collaborated, but most of all Bonaldo, with whom he has established a continuous and very fruitful collaboration contributing significantly to the company’s growth and success. In 2012, Alain Gilles was also named "Designer of the Year" at the prestigious Interieur Fair in Kortrijk.
